Ignacio has 13 years of working experience in corporate finance, investment banking and project management. He has specialized knowledge in energy and agribusiness industries. He has participated in the main debt restructuring processes in Argentina. He enjoys an important experience in the development of business projects such as Multicanal´s expansion outside Argentina as Chief of Strategic Analysis and the revamping and Direction of the agribusiness unit at Standard Bank (former BankBoston). Prior to this experience he was Relationship Manager within the Corporate and Investment Banking unit of BankBoston, covering different industries and in charge of the most important corporate clients. He has a degree in business administration and postgraduate studies in the Universidad Católica Argentina.

Ivan Avila  
Senior M&A Advisor, Brazil

Ivan has over 25 years international finance experience. He began his career at PWC in Brazil, and a few years later was transferred to London. In the UK Ivan also worked for a Cash Management Consulting firm specializing in cross-border operations, restructuring and insolvency transactions. In addition, he worked for Grant Thornton/Trevisan where he was responsible for several market entry strategy projects, M&A and financial advisory work. Among the many deals, Ivan worked on was the acquisition of Chocolates Garoto by Nestle. Ivan is fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish and holds BSc. in Administrative Science from Catholic University, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Eduardo has more than 14 years of experience in investment banking, commercial banking, corporate ratings and investment projects. He served as Director of Media and Communications Corporate Ratings at Standard & Poors, Consultant for the Chairman at Edcadassa, Relationship Manager at BankBoston. Eduardo is currently a partner of an M&A advisory firm in Argentina. María del Carmen Cantor is a former banker with 30 years of experience in Corporate Banking and Risk Management. She worked for Bank of America in Honduras and Miami and served as Corporate Bank Head at both Citibank and HSBC in Honduras, where she managed a number of energy loans. Prior to joining HSBC, Maria worked as General Manager of a local bank. She is currently Founding Partner of an M&A advisory firm. Maria holds an Accounting degree from Loyola University.

Mr. Colín has 30 years of experience in finance and planning. He has held senior positions at Grupo Financiero Banorte, the fourth largest financial group in Mexico and previously served as Managing Director on Staff Financiero consulting firm. Jorge was also head of the financial planning department in Banpaís Bank. Mr. Colín holds a BS in Industrial Engineering and an MBA, both from Tecnologico de Monterrey, and also graduated from Instituto Panamericano de Alta Dirección-Harvard in the Senior Management program.

Based in São Paulo, David began his career working for a financial boutique in London and later moved to Banco Real de Investimento (Banco Real Group) where he was responsible for structuring over $1 billion in debt transactions. He then joined Deloitte & Touche Corporate Finance and worked on M&A, financial advisory and privatization assignments. He later worked for RBS (Royal Bank of Scotland) where he was responsible for originating and structuring Management Buyouts and Buy-ins, corporate acquisitions, development finance, and other leveraged transactions. He holds a B.A. in Business Administration (Hons) degree and an MBA from the University of Bath in the U.K.

James Locke heads up Woodbridge’s Brazilian office. He has 20 years of business experience working with multinational firms in the consumer goods, consulting, telecommunications and finance industries. He has worked for U.S. companies in Brazil, including S.C. Johnson, PepsiCo and A.T. Kearney, and in Eastern Europe for AIG. James has expertise in marketing, strategy and business development. In addition to Brazil, he has served in executive positions based in Europe and the U.S. James earned a BBA in Business Administration from Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He is fluent in Portuguese and also speaks Spanish and Greek.
